Wynne Ford | Wynne Volvo

Conditions of Employment

Wynne Ford, Wynne Volvo of Hampton and Volvo of Virginia Beach's policies of employment are designed to promote a productive, professional work environment. The following are some employment policies that will characterize your work environment, should you accept a position with our company.

  • The Company seeks to project a professional appearance. Employees will be asked to keep haircuts, attire, and overall personal presentation professional.
  • Some job positions require uniforms. Uniforms are furnished by the Company, and the Company may require uniforms to be maintained by the employee. If uniforms are required for a position, they must be worn without exception.
  • Because we run a lean staff, our employees must be available to work their shifts. Employees who miss an excessive amount of hours, who are habitually late, or who frequently need to leave work early are subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
  • Many job positions require employees to drive customer and Company vehicles. For these positions, employees must have good driving records. Excessive tickets or even a single DUI or reckless driving conviction may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
  • Ongoing training is important to our Company, so we expect employees to approach training cheerfully. Failure to maintain certification and other required training may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
  • Smoking and use of other tobacco products is restricted to designated places and times. Smoking in customer or Company vehicles is strictly prohibited. Employees may not smoke around building entrances and exits, or inside any part of the building.
  • Drug screens are given randomly, any time an employee sustains an injury or damages property while on Company time, and any time the Company has reasonable suspicion that an employee is being influenced by chemical substances. Refusing to take a screen or a positive screen result is grounds for disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
  • In part because of the close contact our employees have with customers, criminal history checks are conducted on all employees at the time of hire. Discovery of convictions not noted on the employment application or otherwise timely disclosed to the Company may be grounds for disciplinary action, up to and including termination.

If, after reading these items carefully, you are still interested in applying for a position with Wynne, please signify by signing your name in the space below. The Company will understand your failure to sign this section as a withdrawal of your application. We appreciate your interest in our dealership and look forward to discussing your employment prospects.

_______________________________________________________________________________ APPLICANT'S AGREEMENT AND CERTIFICATION

I certify that the information given by me on this application is true in all respects, and I agree that, if I am employed, any false representation on this application will be grounds for dismissal.

I authorize the use of any information on this application to verify my statements, and I authorize my past employers, all references, police departments or other law enforcement agencies, department of motor vehicles, any other state or federal agency, and any personnel representing any school that I have attended to provide information to Wynne in connection with this application for employment. I hereby release from any and all liability Wynne and its agents, including any persons or entities described above that either gather or release information pursuant to this consent and authorization.

I understand that Wynne reserves the right to require me to submit to a drug test for the presence of drugs in my system prior to employment and at any time during my employment, to the extent permitted by law. I also understand that any offer of employment may be contingent upon the passing of a physical examination and a test for the presence of alcohol in my system, performed by a doctor selected by Wynne. Further, I understand that, at any time after I am hired, Wynne may require me to submit to a physical examination, a drug test, and/or an alcohol test, to the extent permitted by law. No promises regarding employment have been made to me. If an employment relationship is established, I understand that it will be “at-will,” meaning that either Wynne or I will have the right to terminate my employment at any time, with or without notice, for any lawful reason, without liability for doing so.

Applicants: Read the following personnel policies and indicate your understanding of how they may affect your potential employment with us by signing where indicated.

SECTION 1 - DRESS CODE

UNIFORMS

Wynne provides uniforms for those employees who are required to wear uniforms. Uniforms fall into two categories:

Shop uniforms are rented from a contract service and must be returned for cleaning in a timely manner. Employees will be required to reimburse the Company for the cost of any uniforms that are damaged or lost while in the employee’s care. Should you leave our employ, uniforms must be returned to dealership.

Logo uniforms and gear (such as coats, boots, and rainwear) worn by customer service personnel are purchased by the dealership and issued to employees. The care and cleaning of these uniforms will be your responsibility. Employees will be required to reimburse the Company for the cost of any uniforms that are damaged or lost while in the employee’s care.

NAME BADGES
Any employee not in a uniform with his or her name embroidered on it will be required to wear a name badge while at the dealership. Two name badges are issued by the dealership. Employees will be required to reimburse the Company for the cost of any lost or destroyed name badges.

I understand that Wynne has a uniform and name badge policy. Depending upon the position I have applied for, I understand that I will be required to either wear a uniform or a name badge or both.

SECTION 2 -
Virginia Salesperson License

Complete if checked

The Commonwealth of Virginia requires all Salespersons to have a Virginia DMV Salespersons License prior to selling automobiles. Since you must be sponsored by an automotive dealership, it is not necessary to have one at the time of application. However, we must know that, if hired, you will agree to obtain a Salesperson License or transfer an existing one. There is a nominal fee to acquire the license from the Virginia Commonwealth Division of Motor Vehicles, which will be your responsibility.

Please sign that you understand the Salesperson License requirements and, if hired, that you agree to comply.
